Abstract

Globally, tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top 10 causes of death, the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent, and the leading cause of death among subjects living with the human immunodeficiency virus. Since it practically affects all the organs and tissues of the body, it is of vital importance that all health personnel know the fundamental principles for the treatment of this disease and the complications that might arise from the use of multidrug treatment regimens.The treatment of TB requires the use of multiple drugs for long periods.
