| Abstract: | We propose a new analytical method for coated plasmonic nanoparticles using a combination of the modal expansion method (MEM, Yu et al.,Chem . Soc. Rev. 2017) with the dipole equivalence method (DEM, Khlebtsov, J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer, 2013). The universality of our method and its excellent accuracy are exemplified by the comparison of the extinction and scattering spectr a of variously shaped two - layered gold and silver nanoparticles (rod, disk, triangle prism, bicone, and bi pyramid; a dielectric coatig from 0 to 30 nm) with benchmark numerical calculations by COMSOL. |
