dc.description.abstractNanoparticles (NPs) possess unique physical and chemical properties that make them more valuable and scientifically intriguing than bulk metals. Amog thema ny application sof NPs, unders tanding how the yunder goheating and desorption/sputtering is crucial for specific nanotechnology applications, suchasusin glaser-irradiated NPs for medical treat ments, or laser processing of NPs to form exotic nanostructures, a swellas in sur face engineering and diagnostics. In this paper, were port some of our recent achieve ments in the irradiation of NPs by laser and ion beams, whichres ult in the ir heat in gand ablation (or sputter in gin the caseo fion beams). These processes are linked to the development of new methods in spectroscopy for complex materials, suchasbio-andorgani cobjects.ru
