Constitutional Law in Japan

Abstract

The analysis of the constitutional law of Japan, based on the multi-volume International Encyclopedia of Laws, contains information about the sources of the country's constitutional law, its form of government and administrative structure. The book briefly describes the political system of modern Japan in its development, the role of international treaties, legislation, judicial practice and administrative regulations. The form of government, its legal status, jurisdiction and activities of central and local government bodies, and the concept of citizenship are considered. The legal status of foreigners, international relations, tax legislation, legislation on emergency situations, the power of the military, and constitutional relations between the church and the state are particularly considered. The book allows to save time for both practicing lawyers and legal scholars, researchers of comparative constitutional law.
