Decolonizing Communication Studies

Abstract

This volume examines the effects of the decolonizing of communication studies. The process of decolonizing is considered as unshackling the cocoon of epistemologically imposed social and cultural norms that people outside the periphery of Europe and America have been subjected to in Africa since the Berlin Conference of 1884/1885. The articles consider the manifestations of decolonizing in the field of mass communication, education, culture and mass media.

В книге рассматриваются последствия деколонизации исследований в области коммуникации. Деколонизация осмысляется как разрушение кокона эпистемологически навязанных социальных и культурных норм, которым люди за пределами периферии Европы и Америки подчинялись в Африке со времен Берлинской конференции 1884-1885 годов. В статьях рассмотрены проявления деколонизации в области массовой коммуникации, образования, культуры и масс-медиа.
