| Abstract: | Modern internal combustion engine design requires the use of adapted thermal calculation methods that take into account the specific features of a given engine type. The rotary-piston engine (RPE) differs from traditional piston engines by the absence of a valve mechanism, distinct characteristics of gas exchange and combustion processes, and the specific geometry of the combustion chamber. The growing interest in rotary-piston engines, driven by their compact design, high specific torque, and reduced number of moving parts, does not diminish the relevance of accurate thermal calculations. This is due to the specific characteristics of the working process, including distributed combustion, complex chamber geometry, and increased thermal loads on structural components. |
