| Abstract: | High-speed gear with oil bath lubrication used increasingly in modern automotive gearbox. In high-speed gear, it is important to take into account oil churning losses, which sometimes may exceed friction losses in bearings and gears. This paper describes an analytical model for calculating oil-churning losses for a gearbox with a high-speed gear immersed in an oil bath. Bench tests conducted on a prototype NAMI E-transmission gearbox, designed specifically for EV applications. The data obtained in the tests compared with analytical calculation results. |
