| Abstract: | The rotor supports are the primary load-bearing component of the engine, perceiving static and vibrational loads from the rotor—they require detailed design consideration based on numerous criteria and requirements, compliance with which ensures the engine's operational capability. As a result of previously conducted calculations, it was found that the baseline design of the free turbine (FT) support in a gas turbine engine (GTE) does not meet the strength requirements. This necessitated specialized optimization aimed at achieving a minimal-mass structure that satisfies reliability and service life demands. The assessment of the support's operational capability is based on the static strength criterion of the assembly's critical elements under maximum operational loading conditions. |
