Актуализация понятия “freedom” в американской политической риторике

Abstract

Frame semantics is of special interest in the language research both on the level of word and on the level of text. In the present article a rhetorical analysis of the speech "The Four Freedoms ” of the 32nd President of the USA ED. Roosevelt is performed. We attempted to single out the basic frames related to the concept "freedom ’’ that are used in the speech to persuade the Congress members to pass the Lend-Lease Act and support Great Britain in its opposition to the fascist Germany.
