Thermoacoustics deals with the conversion of heat energy into sound energy and vice versa. The unique feature of the present algorithm is its ability to design thermoacoustic engine from scratch. It based on the energy balance including a coefficient of performance as a criterion to design individual thermoacoustic engines and acoustically-driven thermoacoustic refrigerators. As a case study, a thermoacoustic standing wave engine has been designed and optimized based on the developed algorithm. The results from the algorithm are in good agreement with that obtained from the computer code DeltaEC.
