Abstract: The development of design schemes of adaptive engines General Electric and Pratt and Whitney Aircraft companies is analyzed. The development of such engines is caused by the need to maintain high efficiency of multi-purpose (multi-mode) combat aircraft and promising supersonic passenger aircraft. The structural and power systems of GE and PW adaptive engines include three power bearing housings: a front fan bearing with one bearing; a middle support with a rear fan bearing (shaft–to-shaft) and front compressor bearings; and a rear support with two bearings - high (shaft-to-shaft) and low-pressure turbines. The power connection of the turbochargers is the outer casing of the combustion chamber. The MOBY VCE engine, created under the ADVENT program, was a double-circuit engine consisting of three circuits and an additional combustion chamber in one of them.
